How do I register for the league?

We’re excited to have you! All the details you need are on our Registration page. Spots fill up fast, so be sure to set up your account ahead of time so you’re ready to go the moment registration opens.

Can I register as an individual, or do I need a team?

You can register on your own — no team required! Once registration closes, we organize all individual sign-ups into balanced teams so everyone gets a fair, fun season.

What’s the deadline for registration?

Registration deadlines will be posted ahead of each season on our Registration page. We recommend signing up early, since spots are limited and tend to go fast.

How much does it cost to join the league?

Season pricing will be listed on our Registration page. Your fee covers your spot on a team, a T-shirt, permits, equipment for game play, and access to all scheduled games for the season.

Can I request to be placed on a team with a friend?

Yes! When you register, you’ll have the option to note any friends you’d like to be teamed up with. We’ll do our best to accommodate group requests while still keeping teams balanced.

I’m interested in captaining — how do I sign up, and what should I expect?

We love enthusiastic captains! Keep an eye out for our Call for Captains announcement each season. Captains are responsible for organizing their team, managing rotations and substitutions, communicating with players, and helping ensure the game runs smoothly and fairly.

Are there any training or practice sessions offered?

Since this is a brand-new league, we don’t currently offer formal practice sessions — but don’t worry, this league is designed to be beginner-friendly! You’ll pick things up quickly once you’re on the court, and your captain and teammates will help you along the way.

Where are the games played?

Games are played at a gym located in downtown Toronto. Exact venue details will be shared with registered players ahead of the season.

What days and times are games typically scheduled?

Games take place weekly in the evening, with each team playing two games per night. Specific dates and times will be posted on our Schedule page once the season is set.

How will I know which team I am on?

Once teams are finalized, you’ll be notified directly with your team assignment, along with details on your captain and teammates.

What do I need to prepare before the season starts?

Just bring your sports gear (see below), your energy, and your best throwing arm! We’ll take care of the rest, including equipment, jerseys, and scheduling.

What should I wear to dodgeball?

Comfortable athletic clothing that won’t restrict your movement, along with non-marking gym shoes. Avoid anything loose or bulky that could get caught during play.

Are uniforms provided or required?

Yes — team t-shirt are provided as part of your registration and are required to be worn during games so teams can be easily identified on the court.

Can I wear jewelry or accessories during games?

For safety reasons, we recommend avoiding loose jewelry, watches, or accessories that could get caught or cause injury during play. Please keep in mind that anything you wear is considered part of your body for gameplay purposes — including for eliminations!

Do I need to bring my own equipment?

Nope! We provide all game balls and equipment. All you need to bring is proper footwear, athletic clothing, and a sealed water bottle.

I lost my shirt — can I get another?

Reach out to us directly via email at [email protected] and we’ll help sort out a replacement t-shirt for you.

What are the basic rules of dodgeball in this league?

he goal is simple: eliminate all opposing active players by hitting them with a thrown ball, or by catching a ball thrown at you. Players are eliminated by being hit with a live ball, having their throw caught, dropping a ball while blocking, or committing a boundary violation. Games run for a set time with multiple rounds played back-to-back, and the team with the most rounds won at the end takes the game.

How many players are on each team?

Each team is made up of roughly 11–12 players, including 1–2 captains, with up to 7 active players on the court at a time. All additional players form a rotating bench and enter play in order as the game progresses.

What types of balls are used (foam, rubber, etc.)?

We use 7-inch foam balls for all games. Soft, grippy, and perfect for dramatic dives — foam balls are safer than rubber and way more fun to throw (and dodge)!

What kind of behaviour is expected during games?

Kindness first, always. This is a recreational league, and we’re all here to have fun, build community, and throw some balls. We expect all players, captains, and refs to treat each other with respect, inclusivity, and good vibes — on and off the court.

How can I stay updated on league news or schedule changes?

Keep an eye on your email and our social media channels for updates. We recommend also staying in touch with your captain, since they’ll often be the first to share any last-minute changes.

What do I do if I’m not going to be able to finish the season?

If your circumstances change and you’re unable to complete the season, please reach out to us directly so we can figure out next steps together.
